Rob and Graham have been partners of a residential construction company for more than 30 years. Being in a partnership means they’re not necessarily always on the same page.
One of the biggest ways they have found value from being APB members is having support to be able to bounce off their ideas and decisions off each other and be given clear direction as to what needs to be done to move forward.
The pair said, “Pre-APB, we got to a point where we just weren't making any traction and making the profit that we should be making.
We were doing quantity, not quality, and we wanted to develop a clear niche.
And so what APB has been able to do for us is be able to get us to focus on what is our niche and another key point is net margin: pricing for profit.
That was a really instrumental tool for us about how we would move forward with our business modelling and what we needed to do to achieve the best results for our business.”
Their building company now has a solid book of work nearly 12 months ahead in relation to builds, and has forward orders of nearly nine months.
