How A Husband And Wife Have Grown Their Building Company Working Together

“Before we got involved with APB, we knew how to build homes but we didn't really know how to run a business.”

Toby and Elizabeth started their building company in 2011. The husband and wife duo established Highwater Homes with the vision of providing outstanding customer service and high quality for those wishing to create their new home.

Back in 2012, Toby and Elizabeth’s building company was only building one or two homes a year.

They knew that it wasn’t sustainable to run a business of this size but didn’t know how to get their building company to the point where they wanted.

Since joining APB in 2014, Toby and Elizabeth have learnt what margins they should be applying, the correct estimating process that they should be following and ultimately how to run a financially viable business.

“By implementing the sales and advertising campaigns towards the right clients, it allowed us to build the right type of homes that we're trying to attract.

And we're now building homes that we want to build for the people that we want to build for. So the homes are a lot larger in size, more valuable and at a higher margin than what we used to build.”
